Seminar on ‘The Role of Civil Society to Prevent Corruption’

Maapsi- a development organization in association with Swapno Sahajjyo Shongstha organized a seminar on the role of civil society to prevent corruption on 30 June 2005 at Jessore. Advocate Abdul Latif presided the seminar while a group of activists spoke on the occasion. The speakers told that to prevent corruption in the society the role of civil society should be more proactive and practical. They urged all political parties to raise their voices stronger in this regard.

 

Seminar on ‘Tolerance for establishing good governance’

 'Tolerance is the key to establish good governance in the society. Now we need tolerance from the political parties to get a positive picture of the country. General people are bushed, worn-out in every aspect. So this is the high time to think. So starting dialogue among the political parties are most important factor now.’

Maapsi organized a daylong seminar on tolerance on 31 July 2005 at the auditorium of Swapno Sahajjyo Shongstha where speakers delivered this important speech.

 

 Human Rights Education for minorities

Maapsi is organizing a series of human rights education among the minorities at Bejpara area of Jessore. The education includes basic rights of human being, health, importance of education e.t.c.

 

 Study Circle of Democracy

Maapsi organized a series of Study Circle on Democracy among the young students in Jessore continuously. A large number of youths participated in the circle where they use to gather knowledge on democracy and human rights simultaneously.
